Jacqueline Peeters

I went to law school after earlier professional and personal adventures, including parenting three boys through their early years. I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2001, turned 40 and articled at a large Bay St. firm. I have been practicing family law exclusively since 2003. I did litigation in various courts in and around the GTA, but also gravitated to Collaborative Practice, immediately recognizing the benefits for separating families. In early 2019, I chose to stop taking new court files and focus on out-of-court settlement. The reality is that at least 95% of family court cases settle without a trial, but often only after relationships have been damaged and too much money has been spent – money that could have been better spent building a new beginning.

I want to work with people who are ready to “roll up their sleeves” and address their separation issues in a manner that recognizes everyone’s needs and, if there are children, keeps them front and center. It doesn’t mean there will not be conflict and challenging moments; it means, with the right help, you can meet the challenges to reach a resolution that builds a path forward.
